Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post 900 participates in the Grand Opening of a new Sheriff’s PAL Sports Complex

On Saturday, December 12, 2009 members of Explorer Post 900 participated in the grand opening event of the newest Sheriff’s Police Athletic League complex in the Lealman area of St. Petersburg.  Agency members were assigned to various activities that day and Explorers assisted with guest parking, serving beverages, and answering many questions. 

The complex has completed the first phase in providing a safe place for children to play and learn with coaching and mentoring provided by Sheriff’s Deputies.  Basketball courts, a street hockey court, tether ball, beach volleyball, and a game room equipped with Ping Pong and Bumper Pool are just a few of the things ready at the complex. 

The open house drew hundreds of local residents and many public officials.  Kids tried out every aspect of the complex including inflatable boxing and an inflatable bounce house just for the day.
