Four members of Post 900 selected to attend National Exploring Academies

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post 900 is proud to announce that four post members have been chosen to attend one of five Law Enforcement Exploring National Academies held this summer.  Explorer Lieutenant Joshua Davidson was chosen to attend the FBI Exploring Academy.  Explorer Lieutenant Rachel Davidson and Explorer Corporal Miracle Anderson were chosen to attend the United States Secret Service Exploring Academy, and Explorer Sergeant Nathan Mowatt was chosen to attend the United States Marshall’s Exploring Academy.

Each of these young people will spend a week in Washington D.C. learning about careers available with their respective federal law enforcement agencies.  After a lengthy application process, they were selected among numerous applicants from across the United States.  Joshua, Rachel, Miracle and Nathan each have an impressive resume of community service and volunteerism, outstanding academic backgrounds, involvement in multiple extra-curricular activities and team sports, as well as numerous awards and recognition for personal accomplishments.

The Exploring program as a whole has a direct impact on each of the young people involved.  It boosts self-confidence, strives to improve both physical and mental fitness, and encourages responsibility and good citizenship.  Ultimately Exploring will help these young people acquire the leadership skills necessary to achieve their own goals of working in the law enforcement field one day.

Being chosen for a national academy is a great honor and well deserved by each of our kids!  Congratulations Josh, Rachel, Miracle, and Nathan!
